For the last 8 years, we have seen a real man, a real husband, a real father, a real civil servant, a real President, a human being who has represented the best in all of us.
He has laughed with us, cried with us, and has experienced pride and failures with all of us. He is/was no infidel, not a philanderer nor a perjurer or an extortionist and not a public disgrace. He has been a diplomat bar non. He is the embodiment of the all American guy next door who chose the path of hard work, character and integrity to fulfill his dreams, and in so doing, that path led him to the White House and becoming the President of the United States. It is the path all of our parents have preached to us about taking. He made it real, gave it a face and that face can be the hopes and dreams of a new day.
Thank you Mr. President for your poise, your grace, your dignity, something so rare in men, particularly men of power today. You brought us back to a nostalgic time in America’s history when decency, honor, hard work/grit and just being an all around good guy earned you the label of being a great American. You are a great American.
